Ready to Swim

Devin and Ashton are very excited about going swimming. Devin actually can swim a little ways on his own. He just started lessons last week. I know, funny since I'm an instructor to pay someonelse to teach him. You know how it is--he wants to play with mom not work. This is blackmail for later on. Now if they just had put underwear on their head too. That would have been perfect.

A Snowy Day

This is in our backyard extending out onto the ice which has been frozen solid for two weeks now. brrrr! Of course, our neighbor was making the ultimate sledding hill with his snow blower to the left. The kids had a great time, but I think the guys were having more fun slicking it down, building up the ramps, and snowblowing the ice to make it slicker! Taylor and Devin with the tube.
You can see the patch of grass where we took the snow to build up the side ramps. Taylor is being a good sport and carrying the tube up. The worse part of sledding. Luckily, our hill is less than a bunny hill--more like a hamster hill.

Sweeping down the ramp.

Afterwards, to entertain the kids, they played with toothpicks and marshmellows. It's a hit; I'd highly recommend it anytime you're trying to make dinner and don't know how to keep the kids busy. Ashton decided to take one marshmellow and stick tons of toothpicks in it like a sea anemone. How different:)

Family Photo Shoot

Lucas smiling at his brothers. Finally, he gets pictures done at five months old.

Little Poser! He's saying "doggy" and that was the only word that would make him smile.

The tongue picture. They're all riding the tricycle.

Amazing--we're all looking at the same time.

A Monday

Jared makes a decorative carrot girl with a stylish pb hairdo. It was the post FHE dessert snack.
Look at the detail.

Taylor taught our lesson on blessings. He colored this at church and brought it home so he could teach the lesson. We all got to select the item we were thankful for and stick it on the poster board. We then said why we were thankful for that specific picture.

Devin had quite a 24 hour period from Sunday to Monday. Of course, I was solo because my DH was at work. I had to speak in church which added to the confusion and a migraine to boot. Before the above tv incident he was in his closet "getting dressed for church" when I hear a crash. He was playing Tarzan on the shelves and they pulled out of the wall and all the games and toys came crashing down. Tarzan was not injured luckily. Monday morning I hear a crash while I'm upstairs changing the baby. I come downstairs and this is what I see. Devin was trying to get a dvd from behind the tv and it fell. Ashton was close, but not in the line of descent, thankfully. It was so heavy I had to wait for help to come home before I could put it back. The cords ripped out the back so, needless to say, there has been no tv watching this week. I think it's a fair punishment.

Working Outside

Taylor loves climbing trees, and has found out it's easier to climb up than to come down.
Uncle Andrew working with the boys. Raking up the leaves for grandpa.

Even Ashton is helping.

Devin takes a break to have some fun in the trees.

An unrelated picture, but I just love his smile. He's a sweety!

A Night Out

I think we look really happy to be out alone with 380 other people.
How cute!! We went to the prom; sort of. The in-laws and a very nice Andrew and Sarah watched the kids and we went to The Wabash Hospital Dancing with the Stars Gala (that's a mouth full). This is our first date without Lucas since he was born. Yeah!! We dined and danced until midnight. We even squeezed in a little cha-cha.

Karate Guys

Taylor and his dad have been going twice a week to karate classes for a year now. They have earned their yellow belts and love sparring.

They look tough

When Taylor first took his sparring gear to class he was so excited. He was timid at first, but after he warmed up he started being aggressive and punching and kicking kids that were at higher levels.

Not bad for an old man. In the class there are a few black belts that come to workout and the yellow belts get to practice against them.
