A Monday

Jared makes a decorative carrot girl with a stylish pb hairdo. It was the post FHE dessert snack.
Look at the detail.

Taylor taught our lesson on blessings. He colored this at church and brought it home so he could teach the lesson. We all got to select the item we were thankful for and stick it on the poster board. We then said why we were thankful for that specific picture.

Devin had quite a 24 hour period from Sunday to Monday. Of course, I was solo because my DH was at work. I had to speak in church which added to the confusion and a migraine to boot. Before the above tv incident he was in his closet "getting dressed for church" when I hear a crash. He was playing Tarzan on the shelves and they pulled out of the wall and all the games and toys came crashing down. Tarzan was not injured luckily. Monday morning I hear a crash while I'm upstairs changing the baby. I come downstairs and this is what I see. Devin was trying to get a dvd from behind the tv and it fell. Ashton was close, but not in the line of descent, thankfully. It was so heavy I had to wait for help to come home before I could put it back. The cords ripped out the back so, needless to say, there has been no tv watching this week. I think it's a fair punishment.

Working Outside

Taylor loves climbing trees, and has found out it's easier to climb up than to come down.
Uncle Andrew working with the boys. Raking up the leaves for grandpa.

Even Ashton is helping.

Devin takes a break to have some fun in the trees.

An unrelated picture, but I just love his smile. He's a sweety!

A Night Out

I think we look really happy to be out alone with 380 other people.
How cute!! We went to the prom; sort of. The in-laws and a very nice Andrew and Sarah watched the kids and we went to The Wabash Hospital Dancing with the Stars Gala (that's a mouth full). This is our first date without Lucas since he was born. Yeah!! We dined and danced until midnight. We even squeezed in a little cha-cha.

Karate Guys

Taylor and his dad have been going twice a week to karate classes for a year now. They have earned their yellow belts and love sparring.

They look tough

When Taylor first took his sparring gear to class he was so excited. He was timid at first, but after he warmed up he started being aggressive and punching and kicking kids that were at higher levels.

Not bad for an old man. In the class there are a few black belts that come to workout and the yellow belts get to practice against them.

Finally the Pumpkins!! and Batman

The boys posing with their works of art.

Cutie Lucas is getting so big. He now rolls from his back to stomach all the time.

Batman!!! I think he can pull it off.

Happy Halloween

The whole family was a Star Wars character this year; including mom and dad. Don't get too deep into the psyche of this one (married to his daughter and she doesn't know he's her father) messed up childhood. Darth Vader and his mini.
Jango Fett and the Jedi face off. For some reason Jango Fett (Devin) wants to use a light saber also and not his gun.

Princess Leia with her gang: Taylor(Obi one), Ashton (Yoda), Lucas (Darth), Princess Leia, Devin(Jango Fett)

The Dark Force is taking over; all our fall leaves behind them are gone. They were so beautiful while they lasted.

We had a great halloween. We took them to the State Park earlier in the day with some pizzas and had a picnic then did the halloween scavenger hunt the DNR had set up. There was also pumpkin painting, a bonfire, a hayride and weenie roast. It was fun to get outside and doing something in nature on Halloween.

The pumpkin patch

We took the kids to the pumpkin patch so they could take the hayride and pick out their pumpkins. Here they are carving their own pumpkins, but Devin doesn't want to actually get his hands dirty; he wants to use a spoon. I'm trying to keep the baby warm.
Taylor has no problem getting dirty and Ashton is standing by offering support.

They had a huge hay mountain the kids could play and jump on. Taylor's in mid flight. I wish I could bottle
all that energy.
Ashton and our neighbor girl are posing on their pumpkins. Ours weighed 27 lbs. and her weighed 44 lbs.

Ward Trunk or Treat

Here the kids are enjoying the spoils of the evening. Our decorated trunk. I'm princess Leia with Lucas as a red hot pepper. His darth vader costume hadn't come yet, but it paid off becuase he won the prize for cutest costume.
The missionary's trunk. If his mother could see him now trying to scare kids by grabbing their hands as they reach in. Atleast he's still in his suit :)

A better look at our decorated trunk. The tombstones have all our names on them and a little phrase:
Here lies Devin he went to heaven
Barely below is Ashton; he was only one when his time was done.
Taylor fell out of a tree. Ouch!! That hurt.
Here lies (fill in my name). She was my wife now she rests in peace and so do I.
My husbands: See I told you I was sick!!
Finally, a family picture with all of us at the zoo.

The Zoo Boo

I feel like Halloween has been for a week with all the costume/Halloween things we've gone to. This is the Zoo Boo at the Indianapolis Zoo. They had a hay maze, trick or treating, and different Halloween displays. Below we have Obeonekenobi sp? and Jango Fett.
We found other Star Wars people and had to get a group shot. Ashton's Yoda.

The huge polar bear is poising in the background and the kids look just thrilled.

Cute Yoda.

The kids are at the Haunted House at the Children's Museum. We decided to blitz through and do everything in one day. It was an Egyptian themed haunted house. So the boys got on a haunted airplane and "flew" to Egypt where the nile, pyramids, and a throned pharoah were all haunted and gave out treats. They earned tickets by reading books for the Library Summer reading program.

Soccer Tournament

The boys received their soccer trophies while dad was in Peru. Taylor's well-bundled since it was 35 degrees.
Trying to stay warm with Ashton and the baby on the sidelines.
